Openly Faithful: A Christians in Open Source Movement

Vision: To see the global Church openly using, sharing, building, and funding digital tools for the Great Commission.

The movement is a work of God that we're faithfully joining. It's a work in progress, starting with these five principles that we want to anchor on when we build:
  • Kingdom-First Architecture: Jesus is at the center, with kingdom principles driving all our technical decisions. Our operating system is sacrificial love, fine-tuned to glorify God.
  • Spirit-Led Innovation: We innovate and build under the Holy Spirit's guidance, holding our plans loosely and allowing God to direct our paths.
  • Radical Generosity: We give abundantly, trusting in God's provision and believing it's better to give - even with software - than to receive. We view open source as ministry, being generous with our ideas, resources, and knowledge.
  • Purposeful Creation: We build new things only when necessary, developing solutions that serve genuine needs and foster collaboration rather than competition.
  • Community-Centered Development: Every effort aims to deepen relationships, ensuring our work fosters genuine, Spirit-filled communities. We aim for decentralized yet connected contributions, honoring every member of the Body of Christ.
We are looking for other believers follow along the journey and help us refine them in true open source fashion.

We create because we love like Jesus, we align because we love like Jesus, and we give because we have been loved by Jesus.
